Lektura Privacy Statement
General note:
The Lektura.ch website is operated by Lecturus Prévost (hereinafter referred to as ‘Lektura’).
§ 1 What data do we collect about you?
We process the data that you provide to us or that we collect when you use our website.
- Contact details (email address as user ID; surname, first name and address in the event of a refund or ‘chargeback’ request);
- Products purchased;
- Words marked for memorisation in the application;
- Date of last login;
- Online identifiers (e.g. cookie ID, IP addresses).
§ 2 Who is responsible for data processing?
If you have any questions or concerns about the protection of your data, you can contact us at any time by email at info@lektura.ch. The manager, Jérôme Prévost, is responsible for data processing.
If the customer wishes to delete his user account on lektura.ch, he can request this by emailing lektura.ch. Unsubscribing is free of charge.
§ 3 For what purposes are the collected data processed?
The collected data are used exclusively to access our online products (resources for learning foreign languages).
Lektura does not pass on data to third parties.
We treat your data confidentially and in accordance with the purposes set out in this privacy policy. We ensure that processing is transparent and proportionate.
Unless there is a malfunction or it is necessary, no email notifications are sent to customers.
Lektura does not undertake any marketing activities involving the mass sending of electronic messages and does not send any newsletters. New information is generally communicated via the lektura.ch website.
§ 4 How long is the collected data stored?
Connection data is stored for as long as the user makes use of his account.
However, after five years of inactivity, a user account is deleted by the operator lektura.ch, i.e. if the last login was at least five years ago.
§ 5 Which services or products, including those of third parties, are integrated and how can users object to the transfer of the associated data?
Only payment data is processed by a third-party partner. The purchaser’s payment-related data is stored in the data cloud of Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL Luxembourg (subsidiary of Amazon Web Service Inc., USA) on servers located in Ireland.
This is mentioned in the terms and conditions that Lektura customers must read and accept before making a purchase.
If they do not agree, they can cancel the purchase process before the end of the transaction or before the customer data is recorded.
Apart from this, no third-party online services are integrated.
Subcontractors
We may use the services of third parties or affiliated companies and entrust them with the processing of your data. The categories of subcontractors include the following:
- Accounting, fiduciary and audit firms;
- Consulting firms (legal, tax, etc.);
- IT service providers (application development, web hosting, support, website design, etc.);
These three categories are subject to a duty of confidentiality.
§ 6 What laws does Lektura's data processing comply with?
Lektura's data processing complies with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP), which was completely revised on 1 September 2023, and the new Ordinance on Data Protection or Data Protection Ordinance (DPO) of 31 August 2022.
Remedies
If you are affected by the processing of personal data, you have the right to assert your rights in court or to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. § 7 How do we protect your data?
We will store your data securely and take all appropriate measures to protect it from loss, access, misuse or alteration.
§ 8 Changes to the privacy statement
Lektura may change this privacy statement at any time. Changes will be published on lektura.ch; you will not be notified separately.
